Charlie Allen, founder and president of Charlie Allen Restorations, Inc., has been involved in remodeling for more than 35 years. He completed his first home renovation in 1971 and started his own firm seven years later. In 1997, he founded SolidFlue Chimney Savers, the company’s cast-in-place chimney lining and fireplace restoration division. Allen’s philosophy is that a great company will attract great employees. He does his part by creating a positive and rewarding work environment in which employees can thrive. The company’s strong foundation supports its goal of providing excellent customer service. And, the company is committed to giving back to the communities in which it works. Allen, who is originally from Washington state, has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. In 2006, he was voted chairman of the board of the Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Allen is a member of the Cambridge Historical Society, Historic New England, and the Builders Association of Greater Boston.
